Described once by the Times as “the sexiest referee alive,” I photographed Pierluigi Collina in the St. Martin’s Lane Hotel in London. In person, he’s softly spoken and very polite. And nothing like the sweaty, bulging eyed, somewhat alien figure one used to see running around the football pitches of Europe. Which is nice.
